Russian occupiers are storming Ukrainian Armed Forces positions near an underground gas pipeline in the south
Russian troops on the southern sector of the front are using a main gas pipeline to covertly move assault groups behind Ukrainian units.
Some of the occupiers, after emerging from the underground pipeline, immediately surrender to Ukrainian troops.
This was officially reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, according to the Ukrinform news agency.
Ukrainian intelligence and defense units detected the enemy’s specific intentions regarding underground routes in advance. The Ukrainian Armed Forces command has long been aware of Russian plans to use the gas pipeline for logistics and the infiltration of sabotage groups.
Russian assault troops underwent specialized, extensive training at specially equipped training grounds in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The enemy approached the implementation of this plan on a large scale, transforming the infrastructure into an underground military base. The invaders have fully adapted the industrial facility to the strict needs of their own army.
“This is an entire system and a controlled infrastructure with elements of logistics, shelters, and even internal communications,” the spokesperson said.
Inside the engineering structure, the Russians have set up stationary posts, wired telephone lines, additional underground passages, and bypass tunnels in damaged areas.
The main entrance to this tunnel is located deep within territory controlled by the Russian Federation, while numerous camouflaged exits are situated near the forward positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
This allows the invaders to appear in unexpected places near the line of contact.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated another 1,170 invaders in the past 24 hours
The occupiers complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using drones to cut off the land corridor to Crimea.
