Russian occupiers struck Ukrnafta gas stations in the Dnipropetrovsk region

Russian troops attacked Ukrnafta gas stations in the Dnipropetrovsk region for two nights in a row. Despite the damage, the company says it is doing everything possible to resume fuel distribution to residents of frontline regions as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries during either attack. However, these are not the first strikes on the company’s facilities—since the beginning of summer, Russian troops have been regularly attacking its gas stations and production infrastructure.

Russia continues to strike at Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure. This time, two gas stations belonging to the Ukrnafta network in the Dnipropetrovsk region were targeted. The first attack took place on the night of July 9. A Russian drone struck the gas station complex. The strike damaged fuel dispensers, a canopy, refrigeration equipment, and the control room building.

The following night, on July 10, the Russians attacked another of the company’s gas stations. According to Ukrnafta, this time two drones struck the facility. The attack destroyed the station building and damaged equipment.

Despite the destruction, no casualties were reported in either incident. Bogdan Kukura, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Ukrnafta,” emphasized that the company continues to operate even in frontline regions. “Ukrnafta continues to supply residents of frontline and border regions with high-quality fuel. Our top priority following enemy attacks is to restore our operational capacity to distribute fuel so that people can access this critically important resource,” he said.

The company notes that the recent strikes are a continuation of a series of Russian attacks on fuel infrastructure. For example, on May 18, an “Italmas”-type drone damaged one of Ukrnafta’s complexes in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Two female gas station employees were injured in that incident.

In late June, Russian troops simultaneously attacked several of the company’s gas stations in the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. During one of the kamikaze drone strikes, a gas station employee was seriously injured and hospitalized. In early July, the shelling continued. On July 2, a drone struck a canopy over a fuel dispenser in the Mykolaiv region. One person was killed in the attack, and two others were injured.

That same night, three Russian “Shahed” drones completely destroyed a building and equipment at a gas station complex in the Kharkiv region. On July 3, a drone attacked the entrance to a gas station in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and on July 5, a Russian drone struck a production facility at one of the oil fields in the Sumy region.

Due to constant shelling and the difficult security situation since the beginning of 2026, the company has already been forced to temporarily suspend operations at six gas stations. Ukrnafta JSC emphasizes that even after attacks, its top priority is to restore fuel supply. This is necessary to ensure that residents of frontline and border communities, as well as emergency services, the military, and businesses, do not run out of fuel.

“Ukrnafta” is Ukraine’s largest oil producer and operates the country’s largest network of gas stations. Nearly 700 gas stations currently operate under the Ukrnafta brand, and the network also includes former Glusco, Shell, and U.Go stations. According to its 2025 financial results, the company reported revenue of 99.6 billion hryvnias, paid 28.8 billion hryvnias in taxes, and remitted 5 billion hryvnias in dividends to the state.

In addition, on the night of July 8, strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a military airfield in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast, Russia. This airbase is home to aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which are used for both combat and training missions.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have reduced the strength of the Russian army by another 1,260 soldiers. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released updated data on enemy losses as of July 8, also reporting the destruction of a significant amount of enemy equipment.
