Russian troops are attacking the Pokrovsk sector with small infantry groups under the cover of unmanned aerial vehicles

Russian troops are attacking the Pokrovsk sector with small infantry groups under the cover of unmanned aerial vehicles

The Pokrovsk sector remains one of the most active and fiercest sections of the front, despite a slight decrease in the intensity of Russian assaults compared to the winter period.

The occupiers are not changing their tactics and continue to make regular attempts to advance with small infantry groups, while simultaneously using airpower.

According to a servicemember, the Russian army carries out daily attempts to infiltrate with infantry, trying to break through the Ukrainian line of defense.

Most of these hostile attempts are promptly thwarted thanks to the coordinated efforts of Ukrainian operators of reconnaissance and strike drones, as well as the resilience of infantry units.

Marines are working to eliminate enemy personnel while they are still advancing toward the front lines, in order to minimize risks to defenders of forward positions.

“Constant attempts to infiltrate in small infantry groups are being thwarted by our drone operators and infantrymen,” noted Sergeant Oleksiy Godzenko.

In the 38th Brigade’s area of responsibility, a large-scale technological confrontation involving unmanned systems has been ongoing for quite some time, creating a large “no-fly zone” on the battlefield.

The number of drones of various types in the air and on the ground remains extremely high on both sides of the conflict. Regular airstrikes pose a separate threat, as the enemy makes extensive use of guided aerial bombs (KABs).

Russian aircraft destroy Ukrainian settlements on a daily basis, which significantly complicates the maintenance of defensive positions and logistics.

Ukrainian military personnel have not yet observed any direct temporal or tactical pattern between the dropping of guided aerial bombs and the start of infantry assaults. At the same time, summer weather conditions and seasonal changes significantly influence the nature of combat operations.

Dense green vegetation helps the occupying forces better conceal themselves while on the move, but the abnormal heat creates serious problems for them in terms of drinking water and supplies.

“Right now, the enemy is advancing less than in winter, but they do so constantly and regularly. This should not be underestimated. We’re trying to eliminate the enemy while they’re still on the approach so that our soldiers don’t have to engage them in close combat,” explained Oleksiy Godzenko.

Sergeant Oleksiy Godzenko, spokesperson for the “Korsar” Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 38th Separate Marine Brigade named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachny, reported this on “Army TV.”
