Russian Forces Advance Near the Settlement of Udachne in Donetsk Region
Analysts from the monitoring project DeepState have recorded another shift in the frontline in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
According to updated data, occupying forces managed to improve their tactical positions directly near the settlement of Udachne.
“The enemy has advanced near Udachne,” the analysts briefly stated in their update on the evening of 8 March, emphasising the complexity of the situation.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed in its evening report that enemy activity in the Pokrovsk district is extremely high.
Russian forces continue attempts to break through Ukrainian defences, concentrating their main efforts on assaults against a number of strategically important settlements.
The occupiers attempted to advance in the areas of Shakhove, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Vdale and Molodetske, as well as toward Shevchenko and Serhiivka.
In total, 18 large-scale attacks by invading forces were recorded in this sector over the past day.
Despite the enemy’s territorial gains, Ukrainian defenders continue to inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment. According to military command data, one artillery system and 12 units of specialised equipment belonging to the occupiers were destroyed in this direction during the last 24 hours.
Earlier it was reported that Russian forces paused their offensive in Kharkiv region.
There have also been no observed movements of equipment or personnel on the border with Belarus.
