Russian actor Ivan Zakhava went to war against Ukraine
Russian actor Ivan Zakhava, who performs at the Vakhtangov Theater, decided to voluntarily join Russia’s war against Ukraine. His decision came to light during a meeting of the theater company.
Due to the actor’s deployment to the so-called “special military operation,” the theater has removed the play “Warsaw Melody,” in which Zakha played the lead role, from its repertoire. The theater’s director announced this, explaining that the production would be temporarily removed from the program.
Zakhava himself stated that he considers military service more important than his theater career. He called his decision a “duty to his homeland” and noted that he had previously served in the Russian army, including on a contract basis, and has experience serving in hotspots.
However, the actor did not specify where exactly he would be deployed.
Interestingly, his great-grandfather, Boris Zakha, was born in November 1896 in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He was a renowned theater figure, director, and educator, and one of Yevgeny Vakhtangov’s students.

As a reminder, Putin threatened Ukraine with new strikes on its energy infrastructure.
During the summit in Bishkek, the Russian delegation, led by dictator Vladimir Putin, held a meeting with the Chinese delegation, where the Kremlin leader attempted to paint a rosy picture of a shared future for Russia and China for Xi Jinping. But it all turned out rather pitifully.
