A Russian drone attacked a merchant ship flying the Liberian flag

Russian forces directed a drone at a merchant ship that was traveling through a maritime corridor to load grain.

The attack struck a ship flying the Liberian flag.

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reported this on Facebook.

“The enemy continues to attack civilian maritime logistics in the Odesa region. A Russian drone struck a civilian merchant ship flying the Liberian flag, which was traveling through the maritime corridor to load corn,” the statement reads.

According to the ministry, the crew managed to quickly extinguish the fire. No one was injured. The ship continued its journey and reached the port.

Despite the latest attacks, port operations remain stable. Emergency repair work is ongoing at the sites. Ukraine continues to ensure the operation of the maritime corridor and the fulfillment of export obligations.
