Russian drone destroys apartment of famous Kyiv producer
On the night of February 3, 2026, Kyiv experienced another massive strike by Russian forces. Among the damaged buildings was the apartment of Oleksiy Honcharenko, a legendary TV producer and founder of Friends Production, known for hits like Dancing with the Stars and Star Factory.
Honcharenko shared shocking footage on Facebook showing his former bedroom reduced to a gaping ruin, with a view of the frosty sky through the destroyed walls.
Born in Kyiv in 1972, Oleksiy Honcharenko has over 25 years of experience in the TV industry—from hosting NLO on Inter TV to producing musicals such as Two Zayts and Evening in the Village Near Dikanka.
During the attack, a drone struck the apartment directly above his, and flames quickly spread downward, destroying furniture, walls, and personal belongings. Rescue teams extinguished the fire in the morning, and Honcharenko first saw the damage in Telegram videos.
“Ironically, I call it the ‘Geran effect’. It was a bedroom, now thanks to the drone, we have a terrace with fresh frosty air and a wonderful view,” he wrote, showing the blackened remains of the walls and charred debris.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time. “We could have not woken up, but everyone is alive!” he added.
For context, this strike comes amid a series of massive combined attacks on Kyiv, which have already resulted in casualties and damage across the city.
