The SBU confirmed a strike on the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and an oil pumping station in Russia

The SBU confirmed a strike on the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and an oil pumping station in Russia

The SBU, in coordination with the Special Operations Forces (SSO), the Security Service of Ukraine (SBS), and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR), successfully struck the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and the Starolikeevo Oil Pumping Station, both located in the city of Kstovo.

The operation was carried out 850 kilometers from the Ukrainian border as part of the tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Overnight, the Russian air defense system became active in the Kstovo area, after which local residents heard a series of powerful explosions.

At least two large fires were reported on the territory of the industrial facilities, indicating the accuracy of the attack.

“Carrying out the tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of the 40-day operation to exert pressure on the Russian Federation, the SBU, together with the Special Operations Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, has successfully struck the Nizhny Novgorod Oil Refinery and the "Starolikeevo" in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russian Federation. The distance to the target was 850 kilometers,” the SBU press center emphasized.

It is worth noting that the targeted facilities play a critical role in supplying fuel to Russian occupation forces.

The destruction of such infrastructure directly affects the enemy’s ability to continue a full-scale war against Ukraine.

“Every oil refinery, oil depot, or oil pumping station that is struck weakens the enemy’s fuel supply and directly reduces its ability to wage war. Unlike Russia, which strikes residential buildings and kills peaceful Ukrainians, the SBU targets only facilities and objects that serve the Russian military-industrial complex,” the security service emphasized.

This was reported by the SBU press center.
