The SBU has confirmed strikes on strategic targets in Russia
The Security Service of Ukraine has confirmed that the Ust-Labinsk oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai was struck, resulting in a massive fire following the explosions. Additionally, according to the SBU, military facilities in the Leningrad Oblast and the Kronstadt area were also struck.
The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the Ust-Labinsk oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, where a massive fire broke out following a series of explosions and at least three fuel tanks caught fire; according to the Ukrainian side, was used to supply Russian troops. The operations were carried out by the “Alpha” unit in coordination with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, and were directed at facilities critical to Russian military logistics.
The agency emphasized that a massive fire was reported at the oil depot following the explosions, and that the facility itself is a key hub for the storage and supply of fuel to Russian troops in the southern and eastern sectors. “Carrying out the tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, SBU forces, together with partners, are striking key military and logistical facilities of the enemy,” the security service noted.
In addition to the oil depot, the Ukrainian side claims to have struck the 15th arsenal of the Russian Navy in the Leningrad region and the Kronstadt naval base, where, following the explosions, reports indicate, fires broke out and secondary detonations of ammunition occurred. According to the SBU, the arsenal’s warehouses stored missiles and other ammunition, and information began circulating in local Russian chat rooms about a possible evacuation of residents in nearby areas due to the threat of further explosions.
There are also reports of fires in the area of the Kronstadt naval base and the shipyard, which, according to estimates by the Ukrainian security service, support the operations of the Russian Federation’s naval group in the Baltic Sea.
The SBU emphasizes that such strikes are aimed at weakening the logistics and combat capabilities of the Russian fleet, as the destruction of such facilities complicates the supply, repair, and maintenance of ships and reduces their operational readiness. This was reported by the SBU.
