A Shahed drone hit a five-storey building in Kryvyi Rih
During the night of 26 February, Kryvyi Rih became the target of another attack by Russian Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
One of the kamikaze drones struck a five-storey residential building directly, causing significant destruction and a fire.
The strike damaged structural elements of the building and shattered numerous windows in the flats of civilian residents.
Emergency services and representatives of the local authorities promptly began working at the scene to deal with the consequences of the impact.
The Head of the City Defence Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, announced the deployment of a special assistance headquarters for those affected, set up directly near the damaged building.
“Kryvyi Rih. A Shahed hit a five-storey building. At present, one injured person, minor. Structural damage is visible, many windows are shattered,” the official stated.
The authorities assured residents that the necessary building materials for urgent repairs would be delivered swiftly. This will allow residents to seal damaged properties and protect their belongings from external factors.
According to updated information from the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanha, a fire broke out as a result of the enemy attack.
The first casualty was an 89-year-old man, who received all necessary emergency medical assistance at the scene.
Later, the number of injured rose to two after an 82-year-old woman sought medical help. Both pensioners sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of the cynical shelling of a residential district of the city.
It should be recalled that Russian forces attacked 36 settlements in the Sumy region.
Russia also struck Kyiv, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia with drones and missiles, leaving dozens injured.
