Russian Troops Attack 36 Settlements in Sumy Region

From the morning of February 23 to the morning of February 24, border and frontline areas of Sumy region came under massive fire from Russian occupying forces.

The Sumy region Military Administration reported on Facebook that the invaders carried out more than 100 strikes targeting residential neighborhoods and critical infrastructure across 16 territorial communities in the region.

Despite the intensity of the shelling, according to official information from the regional administration, no civilians were injured.

The highest number of enemy attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.

“Russians used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs,” the administration stated in its report. The wide range of weapons deployed resulted in significant damage to civilian infrastructure in many communities.

In the Shostka, Znob-Novhorodske, and Hlukhiv communities, apartment buildings, private homes, and outbuildings were hit. Damage to educational and medical facilities was also reported, significantly complicating the provision of services to residents.

In the Mykolaivka, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda communities, the enemy targeted civilian infrastructure and private housing.

In the Nedryhailiv and Sumy communities, non-residential buildings were damaged by debris and blast waves.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces damaged a fire station in Dnipropetrovsk region. Additionally, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv region with drones, injuring 11 people, including children.
