Enemy damages fire station in Dnipropetrovsk region
Russian forces carried out a series of strikes on settlements in Dnipropetrovsk region, using aviation and other types of weapons, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported.
As a result of the enemy attacks, a civilian man was injured, and significant infrastructure damage was recorded, including facilities of the rescue service.
The first strike by the invaders occurred on the evening of 22 February at a sanatorium in the Pavlohrad Raion. One person was injured in this shelling and is currently receiving necessary medical care.
During the night of 23 February, the aggressor carried out an airstrike on the Pokrovska Hromada in the Synelnykove Raion. The blast wave from the enemy strike damaged the fire and rescue unit building, breaking windows and destroying the ceiling.
“A utility building on the territory of a private property caught fire. As a result of the impact, a fire started in one of the apartments of a multi-storey building,” the State Emergency Service representatives reported.
Emergency services immediately began work at the strike sites to extinguish fires and clear debris. Fourteen rescuers and four units of special equipment from the State Emergency Service were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attacks.
In addition to damage to the rescue unit, residential houses of local residents were also destroyed.
Earlier, a 77-year-old man was killed in Orikhiv due to a Russian shelling. Russia also carried out a drone attack on a village in the Kharkiv region, injuring five people.
