Five more communities in the Chernihiv region have been designated as potential combat zones
Five more communities in Chernihiv Oblast have been added to the list of territories subject to potential combat operations. The corresponding changes were approved by Order No. 1389 of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
The Kholmyna, Bereznyanska, and Sednivska communities have been fully included in the list. For the Tupychivska and Sosnytska communities, the new status applies only to certain territories.
According to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, the region submitted the proposal following requests from the communities. Work on updating the list is ongoing. The Ponornytsia and Menska communities may be added next.
The status of a potential combat zone gives communities access to state-provided support mechanisms. Specifically, this includes benefits, compensation, and special payments for farmers.
According to the updated rules, communities located within 30 km of areas where active hostilities are taking place may be included in the list.

On September 8, Russian troops launched an attack with two “Shahed” drones on the Kyiv–Sumy train. The train had been stopped in advance, and passengers and crew members were evacuated following a warning from the Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring team.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
