Unmanned aerial systems struck 83 enemy energy facilities in 18 days

Over the course of 18 days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems struck 83 energy facilities in the occupied territories and deep within enemy lines. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the UAF’s Unmanned Systems Forces, stated that the last 12 targets were struck in just the past three days.

Since early July, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces have struck 83 energy facilities belonging to Russian troops and the occupation infrastructure. These include power substations and other energy hubs in the temporarily occupied territories and behind enemy lines.

This was reported by Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces. According to him, the strikes took place as part of the Unmanned Systems Forces’ open-ended operation in Crimea and the temporarily occupied territories. “Between July 1 and 18, UAS ‘Ptakh’ successively struck 83 energy hubs deep within enemy territory,” Brovdi noted. He added that the last 12 targets were struck within 72 hours.

Which targets were struck

Among the most recent targets struck in Crimea were:

  • the 110 kV “Koktebel” substation in the Shchebetivka area;
  • the 110 kV “Kerchenskaya” substation in Kerch;
  • the “Kuban-Crimea” power transmission point in the Glazivka area;
  • the 220 kV “Kamysh-Burun” substation in Kerch;
  • the 220 kV “Chornomorska” substation in the Vulkanivka area.

Ukrainian drones also struck power facilities in other occupied territories. In the Donetsk region, the 220-kV “Azovska” substation in Mariupol and a facility in Yasynivka were hit.

In Luhansk Oblast, power substations in Kadiivka, Solidarne, Hrechyshkyne, and Komysarivka were struck. Another energy facility was struck in Gavrylivka Druha in Kherson Oblast.

The operation is ongoing

The Unmanned Systems Forces state that strikes on the enemy’s energy infrastructure are part of a systematic effort to weaken its capabilities in the occupied territories and behind enemy lines. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commenting on the results of the operation, referred to the targeted facilities as “83 Ilyich candles,” alluding to the scale of the attacks on the enemy’s power grid. According to him, Ukrainian drone units are continuing their operations in this area. This was reported by Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces.

On the night of July 18, fires broke out simultaneously at two power facilities located on the Kerch Peninsula in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. A fire also broke out at the “Gvardeyskoye” military airfield near Simferopol.
