Defense forces are preventing Russia from approaching Orikhiv — Voloshin
Ukrainian troops are inflicting fire damage on Russian assault groups in the Orikhiv sector, preventing the enemy from approaching the city.
This was reported on March 26 during a televised briefing by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces. According to him, enemy troop redeployments have been observed along the front line from Shcherbakiv to Malaya Tokmachka. The occupying forces are attempting to move personnel from their starting areas to forward positions in preparation for further assault operations.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are detecting enemy movements in advance and striking to disrupt their offensive plans. Voloshin noted that only Russian sabotage groups are attempting to approach Orikhiv, and these are being swiftly eliminated using drones and during search-and-strike operations. The situation remains under the control of Ukrainian defenders, who are using all available means to wear down enemy units on the outskirts of the city. These events are unfolding amid reports of Russia preparing operations against water supply systems and increased pressure from the U.S. to withdraw troops from Donbas.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have repelled a large-scale offensive by Russian occupiers, recording a total of 158 combat engagements across the entire front line.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also thwarted a Russian offensive planned for March.
