Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck command posts and an ammunition depot of the occupiers in Donetsk region
On the night of February 2, 2026, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of successful strikes on Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the main hits were recorded near the settlement of Kurakhivka, where Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy two enemy command posts at regimental and divisional levels. These centers played a key role in coordinating the actions of Russian occupation forces in this sector of the front.
In addition to the command posts, an ammunition depot supplying the occupiers’ units was hit in the same area. Explosions and subsequent detonation at the site confirm the success of the operation, which significantly reduces the offensive potential of Russian groupings in the region. Ukrainian command is currently conducting additional reconnaissance to уточнити the final losses in personnel and equipment inflicted on the aggressor as a result of the night strike.
Such pinpoint strikes on logistics hubs and decision-making centers are part of the Defense Forces’ strategy to systematically wear down the Russian occupation contingent. The successful destruction of command-and-control infrastructure and weapons in the Kurakhivka area creates additional difficulties for the enemy in maintaining the intensity of combat operations in the Donetsk direction. The General Staff emphasizes that Ukrainian warriors continue to keep key enemy facilities under fire control across the entire occupied territory.
In Kupiansk, only a few dozen occupiers remain to be eliminated — Trehubov said.
Meanwhile, the National Guard brigade “Khartiia” has regained control of the city council building in the center of Kupiansk and continues clearing the city of remaining occupation forces.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue active combat operations on the eastern front and have advanced near Kupiansk in Kharkiv region, as well as near Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.
