Defense forces struck a Russian boat in Dagestan — General Staff
The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a "Grachonok"-class anti-sabotage boat near Kaspiysk in the Republic of Dagestan, as well as a number of other military targets belonging to Russian forces in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to preliminary data from May 18, the strike was part of a series of attacks on enemy infrastructure. Information regarding the extent of the damage is being clarified.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On May 17 and during the night of May 18, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a number of important facilities belonging to the Russian occupiers,” the General Staff noted.
In particular, a “Grachonok”-class anti-sabotage boat was struck in the Kaspiysk area. Boats of this type are used to guard naval bases and combat sabotage forces, the General Staff explained.
Russian UAV command posts were also struck in the areas of Rozdolne and Shevchenko in Donetsk Oblast, Dvorichne in Kharkiv Oblast, Kam’yanske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Karnatne in Bryansk Oblast (Russian Federation). In addition, Ukrainian troops struck enemy troop concentrations in Piddubne, Donetsk Oblast, and in Olgino, Kherson Oblast.
Following a review of the results of previous operations, it has been confirmed that on May 17, 2026, a communications hub in Mirne, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, a Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system in Zakhidne in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk Oblast, and a convoy carrying fuel and lubricants in Fedorivka in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk Oblast.
It has also been confirmed that on May 16, 2026, as a result of the strike on the Yeisk airfield in the Krasnodar Krai (Russian Federation), a Ka-27 helicopter and a Be-200 naval patrol aircraft were destroyed. In addition, it has been confirmed that on May 16, 2026, an airspace control station in Lesnoy (Bryansk Oblast, Russian Federation) was struck.

On the night of May 17, a number of military-industrial complex and energy facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region were struck. Strikes were carried out on an oil depot in Durikino, an oil refinery in Kapotnya, the Angstrom microelectronics plant, and the Raduga Design Bureau, which develops cruise missiles.
On the morning of May 16, Moscow also came under attack by drones, causing airports in the Russian capital to temporarily suspend operations.
The “ATESH” partisan movement claimed responsibility for a sabotage operation in the Moscow region, which disrupted the functioning of elements of the Russian air defense system on the outskirts of the capital.
