Defense forces repelled 236 enemy attacks over the past 24 hours

On May 18, 236 combat engagements with Russian occupation forces were recorded along the entire front line.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the invaders’ advance and inflicting significant losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment.

The military continues to resolutely repel the enemy’s attempts to advance deeper into our territory, inflicting effective fire damage on key defense sectors.

The past 24 hours were marked by an extremely high intensity of enemy airstrikes and artillery shelling along the entire line of contact.

Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile strike using 22 missiles and carried out 72 airstrikes, dropping 225 guided bombs.

In addition, they deployed 9,794 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,201 attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions, including 48 using multiple launch rocket systems.

In response to the massive strikes, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck four areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.

In addition, Ukrainian forces delivered precision strikes on a command post, three UAV launch sites, and three other key enemy targets.

Analysts and military personnel are currently observing the highest level of activity by Russian occupiers in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.

In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk sectors over the past 24 hours, the aggressor carried out three airstrikes using a significant number of aerial bombs.

The occupying forces carried out 88 shelling attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas, including two using MLRS, firing six guided munitions.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our units seven times in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Vilcha, Prylipka, Veterinarne, and toward Grafske and Karaichne.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked five times, directing its forces toward Kurylivka, Petropavlivka, Kivsharivka, and Novoplatonivka.

Meanwhile, in the Lyman direction, the situation remained significantly more tense throughout the day.

There, the enemy attempted to breach our defenses 14 times, attacking in the areas of the settlements of Stavka, Zarichne, Drobysheve, Novosergiivka, and toward Ozerne and Dibrova.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched three assaults toward Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kaleniky but failed to achieve success.

The invaders demonstrated much higher assault activity in the neighboring Kostyantynivka sector.

In this sector, the enemy carried out 18 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Vilne, Toretske, Berestok, Stepanivka, and toward Kostyantynivka and Kuchero-Yar.

The most critical situation in the East, as usual, unfolded in the Pokrovsk sector, which remains the primary target for the Russian command.

Our defenders repelled 40 assaults by the aggressor toward the settlements of Dorozhne, Shevchenko, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Molodetske, Filiya, Bilytske, Nikanorivka, and Pokrovsk.

Meanwhile, in the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy attacked only once toward Voronne.

The Huliaipole sector unexpectedly became the second most intense point of contact on the southern section of the front.

The occupiers carried out 22 attacks toward Zlagoda, Novoye Zaporozhye, Charivne, Tsvitkove, Rivne, Zaliznychne, Rybne, Staroukrainka, and Gorkoye.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders stopped one enemy attempt to advance in the Shcherbakiv area.

In the Dnipro direction, the enemy launched four attacks toward Antonivka and Bilohrudyi Island, but all were repelled.
