Defense forces have liberated 12 settlements in the Oleksandrivka area
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have regained control of 480 square kilometers of territory and continue to repel Russian attacks in the Oleksandrivka sector.
Serhiy Kolesnichenko, an officer with the communications unit of the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade of the 8th Corps of the Airborne Forces, reported this on Army TV.
“At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have held the tactical initiative for several months now. The offensive operation has been ongoing since late January; to date, control over 480 square kilometers of territory has been restored, and 12 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions have been liberated,” he noted.
According to the military official, the enemy is operating in small assault groups, actively using drones and artillery, and periodically launching counterattacks. However, Russian forces have been unable to seize the initiative.
Kolesnichenko added that the artillery of the 148th Brigade most often targets enemy personnel, as the enemy is attempting to build up forces for new assaults.
“At the same time, significant attention is being paid to destroying enemy artillery, as it poses one of the greatest threats. We are also targeting equipment, ammunition depots, and logistics routes,” the officer concluded.
Despite significant losses, Russian troops continue their attempts to turn the tide of battle in their favor. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are inflicting maximum losses on the enemy and gradually wearing them down.
As a reminder, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi coordinated further actions with unit commanders in the Southern Operational Zone to conduct effective active defense.
As a reminder, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the positions of the 65th Brigade on the Zaporizhzhia sector of the front.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defense forces have eliminated 1,440 Russian soldiers and destroyed a significant amount of enemy equipment.
