Syrsky signed an order on rotations within the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi signed an important order regarding the rotation of troops at frontline positions. The Commander-in-Chief noted that the issue of rotations is one of the most critical in the context of modern warfare.
This is stated in an official announcement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Syrskyi’s statement reads as follows:
“With drones dominating the battlefield, the very logic of conducting combat operations is changing. The concepts of the front line, the rear, and the depth of combat formations have undergone a significant transformation. Logistics and movement have become more complicated, both on the battlefield and from the front line to the rear.
To protect the lives and health of service members carrying out missions both on the front lines and in the depth of the defense, I have signed an order mandating the rotation of service members serving on the front lines.
Commanders must ensure conditions for service members to remain in their positions for up to two months, followed by a mandatory replacement (rotation), which must be carried out within one month. The rotations of our soldiers must be planned in advance, taking into account the situation, the nature of combat operations, and available forces and resources.
The order also sets forth mandatory requirements:
medical examinations and time for rest for service members who have completed combat missions;
timely provision (replenishment) of ammunition and food supplies to service members performing combat (special) tasks at their positions.
Compliance with the order’s requirements will be strictly monitored. Violations will result in inevitable liability in accordance with current legislation and the statutes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Timely rotation is not merely a matter of service organization; it is a matter of preserving the lives of our soldiers and the resilience of our defense.
“This order is mandatory for all units performing combat missions on the front lines,” said Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi.
As a reminder, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine made personnel decisions regarding the command of the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade following media attention due to a critical situation with the supply of troops in the Kupiansk direction.
Prior to this, information appeared on social media about an allegedly critical situation regarding the supply of soldiers from the 14th Brigade’s 2nd Mechanized Battalion, who are stationed at their positions without sufficient food and water.
Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence intercepted a conversation between Russian Armed Forces servicemen complaining about critical problems with food and water supplies at their positions. This indicates serious difficulties with logistical support for Russian units.
