Syrskyi visits Pokrovsk direction amid intense fighting

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces have shown particularly high activity. Over the past week, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 260 enemy attacks in this sector. Due to the tense situation, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, visited the frontline.

Gen. Syrskyi reported on Facebook.

"In the Pokrovsk direction, the activity of Russian occupying forces is especially high. Over the past week, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled a total of 260 enemy attacks," he stated.

Syrskyi added that during his working trip to the area under the responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces, he met with commanders of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Anna Kyivska”, the 25th Separate Airborne Sicheslav Brigade, and assault units.

"We discussed operational details and commanders’ proposals to increase combat effectiveness, as well as options for further action. Special attention was given to countering enemy UAVs, including FPV drones," he noted.

During the visit, the commander also discussed with Major Robert Browdy, commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces, a series of initiatives aimed at reducing the number of Russian occupiers. He also awarded the best servicemen.

"I thank our warriors for their resilience, professionalism, and high results in destroying the enemy," Syrskyi emphasized.

In related developments, President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on Russia’s ultimatum regarding Donbas, stating that if Russian strikes on energy infrastructure cease, Ukraine will respond in kind.

Meanwhile, the United States is once again proposing an energy ceasefire, though questions remain about its effectiveness, and experts note that a real “energy truce” may never have existed.
