The name of the Russian soldier who was blown up in St. Petersburg has been revealed
The soldier who was killed in a car explosion in St. Petersburg was likely Sergei Sechkov, who served in the Russian Federation’s 332nd Separate Guards Helicopter Regiment. This was reported by the Ukrainian Telegram channel Supernova+, and his father confirmed his son’s death.
The car explosion occurred on August 27 in the Slavyanka neighborhood of Shushary. According to Russian media reports, the soldier and his wife were in the car. The soldier himself was killed.
The Ukrainian project “Myrotvorets” indicates that Sechkov served in the 332nd Separate Guards Red Banner Helicopter Regiment. Previously, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had accused servicemen from this unit of being involved in war crimes.
According to preliminary reports, a homemade explosive device detonated in the vehicle. Russian law enforcement agencies have not officially disclosed the motives behind the explosion or the circumstances surrounding the placement of the explosive.
The information that the victim was indeed Sechkov is currently preliminary; however, the published details of his biography match the information that Russian media reported about the deceased soldier.
