A satellite has captured significant damage following a drone attack in St. Petersburg
A satellite image of St. Petersburg, taken on the opening day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), has been published online.
The image appeared following a massive attack by Ukrainian drones on the Leningrad Oblast. According to reports from Russian authorities, air defense forces allegedly shot down dozens of drones overnight and in the morning, leading to restrictions on flight arrivals and departures at Pulkovo Airport.
Against the backdrop of the forum, traditionally considered Russia’s premier economic event, the drone attack was one of the largest in the region in recent times.

On the night of June 3, 2026, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a large-scale long-range operation, striking a number of strategically important targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.
