A list of students recruited by Russia to fight in the war has been published

The Ukrainian government project “I Want to Live,” run by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, has published a list of 1,059 students whom the Russian Ministry of Defense has recruited to fight in the war against Ukraine.

Most of the individuals on the list are first- and second-year students, and the vast majority of them are recent high school graduates.

According to representatives of the Ukrainian project, Russian authorities are forced to seek new sources of manpower to replenish losses on the front lines.

“In the fifth year of the Russian invasion, recruiters and military commissars are going around Russian universities, recruiting recent high school graduates for the war. There are almost no prisoners left in jails, so they have to send children to the front,” the authors of the investigation emphasize in their official post.

An analysis of the published documentation shows that over 80% of the people on this list are very young men between the ages of 18 and 21.

Many of them were attending classes and preparing for their next exam session just a few weeks ago.

However, due to pressure and manipulation by Russian military commissars, these teenagers were quickly reassigned to participate in combat operations.

Recruitment of female students for the war has begun in Russia

As a reminder, the SBU is issuing warnings about enemy recruitment following the terrorist attack in Bucha.

The Kremlin has also implemented a hybrid scheme for covertly recruiting foreigners for the war.
