As of September 12, the intensity of Russian attacks in the Joint Forces Operation zone has decreased. According to Viktor Tregubov, a decline in enemy activity has been observed over the past few days.
Viktor Tregubov, head of the Joint Forces Operation’s Communications Directorate, reported this on television while answering a question about the overall operational situation in the Joint Forces Operation zone.
“Overall, Russian attacks have become noticeably less frequent in recent days, and the intensity has generally decreased somewhat, if we look at the last four days or so. I don’t know what to attribute this to—whether it’s some political strategy or the exhaustion of that strategy—but nevertheless, it’s noticeable,” he said.
Tregubov explained that, overall, the attacks have not stopped—they have simply shifted in intensity somewhat.
“The directions remain the same, and the tactics remain the same. That is, these are constant attempts by small Russian infantry groups to infiltrate, attempts to find gaps in Ukrainian lines—gaps where they can slip through the perimeter and establish a foothold somewhere closer to Ukrainian positions. This currently applies to all sectors within our area of responsibility. In some places more, in others less,” the spokesperson said.
He stated that the situation on the Lyman front is quite intense at the moment, with fairly active combat operations taking place there.
“The Southern Slobozhanshchyna, Lyman, and Kupiansk sectors—the intensity is high there. The Northern Slobozhanshchyna—that is, the Sumy region and eastern Sumy region—is relatively stable there. The Velykoburlutsky sector—let’s just say it isn’t very large in and of itself—and the intensity of fighting there isn’t as high as in the others,” Tregubov noted.
Responding to a question about the situation in the Vovchansk sector, the spokesperson explained that it is, in fact, a fairly large and dispersed sector where the Russians are quite actively attempting to advance small infantry groups, in fact along most sections of the entire Ukrainian-Russian border.
“But we’re holding our ground,” he said.
Earlier, the Russians struck a passenger train at the Lutsk train station.
As a reminder, overnight, the Russians fired Kalibr missiles at a high-rise building in Odesa.
In the Black Sea near Odesa, two sailors from Azerbaijan were killed on September 9 as a result of a drone attack on the Somali-flagged tugboat TEDY.
