On September 17, a Russian attack drone crashed near the Polish border in Volhynia. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that the crash caused a very powerful explosion.
As Tusk noted, the drone crashed near the Dorohusk border crossing. According to him, Russia likely attacked a gas station.
“I have received another report: the Russian attack on western Ukraine has ended. Very close to the Polish border, not far from Dorohusk, a gas station was likely attacked again. There was a very powerful explosion. Our aircraft took to the air. September 17 is an extraordinary day, including from the perspective of today’s security situation,” he said.
Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goriszewski, a spokesperson for the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command, reported that a drone most likely crashed or was shot down 4 km from the Polish-Ukrainian border.
Since it was a jet-powered drone rapidly approaching the Polish border, Poland scrambled fighter jets.
“We are still reviewing the records from our systems, but we have initial indications that the drone most likely hit its target or was shot down 4 km across the border, on the Ukrainian side,” Goriszewski noted.

On September 10, in the Svyatoshynsky district of Kyiv, a drone crashed in an open area in the woods near a shopping center. According to preliminary reports, there was no fire and no casualties.
In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, an enemy drone struck the roof of a four-story business center. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances and address the aftermath of the incident.
