In the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation, nighttime motorcycle riding has been banned under threat of confiscation

Authorities in the Belgorod Region have banned residents from traveling within the region on motorcycles at night so as not to interfere with the tracking of Ukrainian drones.

The corresponding decree was signed by Acting Governor Alexander Shuvaev. The restrictions, which are in effect from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., apply to tricycles, quadricycles, ATVs, mopeds, pit bikes, scooters, and motorcycles

The ban took effect on Monday in accordance with a decision by the region’s operational headquarters dated July 3.

According to the publication “Pepel,” violators will have their vehicles confiscated regardless of whether they hold a driver’s license. A similar ban was introduced on June 17 in occupied Crimea, where, according to local authorities, more than 100 vehicles have already been seized to ensure public safety and protect strategic facilities. It is noteworthy that Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov had previously stated there were no plans to introduce such restrictions, despite calls from local residents who were drawing on the Crimean experience.

As a reminder, the SBU carried out strikes on oil refineries and military facilities in Russia and Crimea.

In addition, drones attacked Russia’s largest oil refinery in Omsk, located 2,500 km from the border with Ukraine.
