Dozens of buildings have been damaged in Dnipro following heavy shelling
As a result of a massive nighttime attack on Dnipro on May 18, approximately 20 high-rise buildings and private homes were damaged. Two kindergartens, a secondary school, an institute building, a mosque, and a tram were also damaged.
Dnipro Mayor Boris Filatov reported this on Monday:
Those monsters really went wild last night. According to preliminary estimates, the Russians’ massive shelling of Dnipro damaged a total of about 20 high-rise buildings and private homes. Two kindergartens, a gymnasium, a mosque, a building of one of the institutes, and a tram were also damaged.
The number of shattered windows will run into the thousands. We will certainly restore everything to order. Utility workers have already gotten to work. All relevant services are also operating. City hospitals, as always, are caring for the injured.
But against the backdrop of all this horror, I want to say something else. About the strength of our people. Because after the madness of the night, Dnipro has come back to life. And everyone who is now heading to work or school, getting on with their planned tasks—this is a superhuman ability, for which it is hard to find the right words. You are incredible, dear people of Dnipro. We will get through this.
