A combined attack on Dnipro: fires, damaged buildings, and casualties
On the night of May 18, Russian forces carried out a combined artillery strike on Dnipro. A residential neighborhood in the city was hit; the attack caused fires, damage was reported, and there are casualties among civilians.
This was reported by Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.
- The Russians launched drones and missiles;

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russians began launching drones toward Dnipro around 8:00 p.m. on May 17. Subsequently, entire groups of drones flew toward the city, and this continued into the night of the 18th.
However, at 2:32 a.m., it became known that Ukraine faced a threat of ballistic missile strikes. The military subsequently detected missiles heading toward Dnipro, as well as cruise missiles. As of 3:50 a.m., the enemy continued to periodically attack Dnipro, causing explosions to be heard in the city at times.
Following a massive drone attack, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, reported that the roof of a high-rise building and a warehouse storing pyrotechnic products were on fire in the city. No casualties were reported at the time. However, following the Russian strikes, Hanzha wrote that, according to preliminary reports, a residential neighborhood had been hit. The attack caused several fires, and it is known that people are trapped in one of the buildings.
At 3:41 a.m., Oleksandr Hanzha reported that three people had been injured.
“One man has been hospitalized in moderate condition. A 50-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man are receiving outpatient treatment,” the report stated.
Subsequently, the number of victims rose to 9. Among them is a 10-year-old boy. Later, the number of victims in Dnipro rose to 18. Among them are a 2-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. They are currently receiving outpatient treatment.
“Eight people have been hospitalized. These include four women and four men. Medical professionals assess their condition as moderate. All victims are receiving the necessary care,” Oleksandr Hanzha reported.



On the night of May 17, a number of Russian military-industrial complex and energy facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region were struck. Strikes were carried out on an oil depot in Durikino, an oil refinery in Kapotnya, the Angstrom microelectronics plant, and the Raduga Design Bureau, which develops cruise missiles.
On the morning of May 16, Moscow also came under attack by drones, causing airports in the Russian capital to temporarily suspend operations.
The “ATESH” partisan movement claimed responsibility for a sabotage operation in the Moscow region, which disrupted the functioning of elements of the Russian air defense system on the outskirts of the capital.
