The Main Intelligence Directorate announced the development of drones with a range of up to 3,500 km
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have drones capable of traveling up to 3,500 kilometers, the commander of the Main Intelligence Directorate stated. According to him, this makes the entire European part of Russia, all the way to the Urals, potentially within range of Ukrainian strikes.
This was revealed in an interview with Channel 24 by the head of the General Staff’s long-range drone group, codenamed “Vector.”
According to the intelligence officer, the famous “Luty” drone became the pioneer of regular Ukrainian “deep strikes,” as it was the first to consistently exceed the 1,000-kilometer mark. However, Ukrainian technology has now taken a giant leap forward.
“In other words, any territory in Russia, all the way to the Urals, is within our reach,” emphasized the commander of the GUR special unit.
In addition to classic propeller-driven drones, Ukraine is successfully deploying the latest jet-powered drones. On the battlefield, they effectively serve as full-fledged cruise missiles. Since Western partners still restrict the supply of long-range missile weapons, Ukraine has switched to mass production of its own.
While just two or three years ago, launching a few dozen UAVs was considered a success, today Russian occupiers are attacked by hundreds of drones simultaneously. To break through the enemy’s layered air defense, reconnaissance units employ a clever tactic of combining forces.
“We also use decoy drones without warheads. We constantly mix it up. No two missions are the same. We test everything new that is developed and produced for future scaling up across other units of the Ukrainian army,” added “Vector.”
Ukraine’s unmanned systems forces announced the destruction of two Tu-142 aircraft and an Iskander operational-tactical missile system at a military airfield in Taganrog, Russia.
On the night of May 29–30, drones attacked fuel infrastructure facilities in Russia, resulting in fires at an oil depot in Armavir and at the port of Taganrog.
Over the past 24 hours, 291 combat engagements were recorded on the front lines between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops, with the heaviest fighting continuing in the Pokrovsk direction.
Over the past day, the Russian army lost another 1,430 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed dozens of artillery systems, hundreds of vehicles, and nearly 1,800 drones.
On the night of May 30, Russia launched a massive air attack on Ukraine, using missiles and hundreds of drones, but most of the targets were successfully neutralized by air defense forces.
