The number of casualties from the airstrike in Kharkiv has risen
The number of people injured in the Russian airstrike on the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kharkiv has risen to 20. Among them are four children. One person is reported to have died. According to local authorities, most of the victims suffered blast injuries. Some of the children required assistance due to severe stress following the attack.
Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. As of the latest reports, there are 20 injured and one fatality. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported the increase in the number of casualties. “The number of injured has risen to twenty, including four children,” he said.
According to Oleg Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, 11 people sustained blast injuries of varying severity.
Four of the injured are children. Three of them are a brother and two sisters from the same family: a 9-year-old girl and two boys aged 7 and 4. Medical personnel diagnosed them with acute stress reaction. Another victim is a 12-year-old boy who sustained blast injuries. The death of a 54-year-old man has also been confirmed. He could not be saved.
Rescue workers, medical personnel, police, and utility crews continue to work at the site of the attack. They are assisting the victims, surveying the area, and clearing up the aftermath of the attack. Information regarding the condition of the injured and the extent of the damage is currently being verified. It is possible that the number of casualties may rise, as search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
Local authorities are urging Kharkiv residents not to ignore air raid sirens and to immediately seek shelter in the event of an airstrike threat. Guided aerial bombs have recently remained one of the greatest threats to this frontline city. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported this on Telegram.
As a reminder, Russian troops carried out 56 strikes on 22 settlements in the Sumy region during the 24-hour period from July 6 to July 7. Two civilians were killed as a result of the enemy attacks, and another person, who had been wounded during a previous shelling, died in the hospital.
Also, over the past 24 hours, on July 6, Russian troops carried out 1,163 strikes on 45 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result of the massive attacks, three people were killed and another 28 were wounded.
