A state of emergency has been declared in Kherson
Kherson has officially recognized the threat of a man-made emergency due to the risk of disruptions to the heating season. This is due to regular Russian strikes on energy infrastructure.
According to the Kherson Regional State Administration, if the heat supply decentralization project is not completed on time, more than 500 apartment buildings could be left without heat this winter.
Regional authorities are preparing a request to the government to allocate funds from the reserve fund to complete work on protecting energy facilities and modernizing the heating system.
An algorithm has also been approved to ensure electricity supply to critical infrastructure facilities and the population in the event of prolonged power outages.
