In Kyiv, a gas station in the Darnytskyi district—which was almost completely destroyed by a direct missile strike during the attack on May 14, 2026—was restored and brought back online in just 65 hours. Despite the extensive damage, the business managed not only to clear the site but also to restart key operations, so the gas station is already serving customers, according to a Glavkomcorrespondent.
This refers to the gas station on Svitla Street, where only debris and destroyed buildings remained after the explosion. As of May 19, the complex’s grounds had been completely cleared of rubble and metal structures, and new fuel pumps had already been installed on site and connected to the system.
At the same time, the mini-market building, which was almost completely destroyed during the blast, has been restored. The first goods—water, beverages, and basic food items—have already returned to the shelves, and staff continue to set up shelves and customer service areas.
According to Alexander Melnichuk, a top manager of the gas station chain, it took just over two days to bring the station back to life. “Just a few days ago, there was smoke, debris, and silence here after the shelling. And today—the smell of coffee and cars at the pumps again,” he noted.
The company emphasizes that the restoration was made possible by the rapid work of on-site teams, who brought the facility back into operation almost without pause, despite serious damage from the strike.
Ukrainian engineers have created the first domestically produced guided aerial bomb.
Ukraine is already producing its own long-range weapons, which are more effective than the limited number of TAURUS missiles that Germany could provide.
