Fires broke out in two districts of Kyiv following an attack by Russia; there are casualties

As a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of August 8, fires broke out in the Holosiivskyi and Obolonskyi districts of the capital. Four people are known to have been injured, three of whom were hospitalized.

In Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, garages caught fire as a result of Russian shelling. 

The fire broke out in two separate locations, covering a total area of about 1,000 square meters.

In addition, a non-residential building where cardboard was stored caught fire. The blaze spread over an area of about 3,000 square meters.

As of 9:04 a.m., firefighters had completely extinguished both fires.

More than 70 firefighters and 17 pieces of equipment were deployed to deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack.

Another fire broke out on the premises of a company in the Obolon district of the capital.

Rescue workers quickly extinguished the blaze.

In total, four people were injured as a result of the nighttime attack, three of whom required hospitalization.

On the night of August 8, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Kyiv, and a series of explosions rocked the capital.

After the attack, residents of several city districts reported disruptions to public utilities.

In particular, on the left bank of Kyiv, in the Osokorky district, the power supply was partially cut off.

On the right bank of the capital, temporary disruptions in the water supply were reported in some buildings.

This was reported by the Kyiv State Emergency Service.

On the night of August 7–8, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with six Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles, and 151 attack drones. 

In Mykolaiv on August 7, a civilian vessel in the port was damaged as a result of an attack by Russian drones. No one was injured.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 978 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Three civilians were killed and four others were wounded as a result of the attacks.

The day before, Russian forces attacked the grounds of a hospital in central Kherson with a drone. Four female medical workers were injured; all suffered blast injuries and concussions.

On the night of July 19, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.

Throughout the day on July 17, Russian forces carried out strikes on Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were wounded as a result of the shelling; among the injured were five children.
