Eleven educational institutions in Kyiv were damaged following a nighttime attack by Russia

As a result of another massive Russian airstrike on Kyiv on the night of June 2, 11 educational institutions in three districts of the capital were damaged.

According to preliminary reports, the damage affected 5 preschools, 4 general education schools, 1 vocational school, and 1 college.

The damage was recorded in the Podilskyi, Solomianskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts of Kyiv.

According to the official, most of the damage was caused by the blast wave and debris from enemy targets.

Windows in educational institutions have been shattered and damaged, and additional inspections of the buildings are underway to assess the extent of the damage.

“Unfortunately, Russian attacks continue to damage the capital’s educational infrastructure. Today, we have damage to 11 educational institutions in 3 districts of the city. This is mainly broken and damaged windows. Together with district state administrations and city services, we are already working to address the consequences. Our task is to restore these facilities as quickly as possible and ensure safe conditions for children and education workers,” noted Valentyn Mondriyevskyi.

Currently, specialists are conducting a detailed inspection of the damaged facilities and determining the scope of necessary repair and restoration work.

City officials emphasize that the restoration of educational institutions will begin immediately after the assessment of the damage is completed.

The Kyiv City State Administration noted that since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Kyiv’s educational infrastructure has regularly suffered damage from rocket and drone attacks.

Since February 2022, nearly 200 educational institutions in the capital have been damaged. Most of them have already been restored, while repair work is still ongoing at some facilities.

According to Valentyn Mondriyevskyi, the city continues its systematic efforts to restore educational institutions to ensure an uninterrupted educational process, safe conditions for children, and proper working conditions for teachers.

This was reported by Valentyn Mondriyevskyi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
