In Kyiv, a Russian missile struck the warehouse of the Knigolav publishing house for the second time
On the night of October 7, a Russian missile attack destroyed the warehouses of the “Knygolav” publishing house in Kyiv. The strike destroyed the publishing house’s warehouses, located in the Podil district.
“On the night of October 7, Russia launched yet another terrorist missile strike: the warehouses in Podil were destroyed. Our new warehouse, where we stored #knigolav books that we had restocked after the first strike in July, also sustained significant damage,” the statement reads.
At this time, the publishing house is unable to definitively assess the extent of the losses or determine the number of books that were destroyed or are beyond repair. They will only be able to assess the final losses once they have full access to the warehouse and have thoroughly assessed the condition of all the books.
As noted by “Knyholav,” it is certain that tens of thousands of books were lost, and they added: “The most important thing is that none of our colleagues were harmed.”
“This is a significant blow to us. These are the books we created, printed, and prepared for you. New releases we managed to receive over the past two months, as well as reprints of books destroyed by Russia in July—reprints we’ve been waiting to see restored together with you,” the publishing house’s team emphasized.
They also noted that the publishing house continues to operate and is working to restore what was lost.
The publishing house announced this on Facebook.
