An unexploded warhead from a Russian missile was found near Pryluky
An unexploded warhead from a Russian cruise missile was found in the Pryluky District of Chernihiv Oblast. The dangerous debris was discovered in an open area several hundred meters from the missile’s main impact site, after which it was neutralized by police bomb disposal experts.
On the outskirts of Pryluky, local residents found debris from the missile and reported it to the police. Bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene and surveyed the area. During the inspection, experts found parts of a Russian cruise missile. However, the greatest danger posed by the missile’s warhead, which had not exploded. It was not found directly near the main crash site; instead, the dangerous component was located several hundred meters away.

“Today, the police received information that missile debris had been found on the outskirts of Pryluky. During the search, police officers discovered parts of a Russian cruise missile in an open area; its warhead was found several hundred meters from the impact site,” law enforcement officials reported.

After the warhead was located, the area was secured. Bomb disposal experts handled it in accordance with all necessary safety precautions. Specialists removed the dangerous component and prepared it for transport. The warhead will subsequently be destroyed at a special testing range. The police remind the public that fragments of rockets and other munitions can remain dangerous even after impact. This is especially true for parts that did not explode upon impact.

Therefore, if you discover a suspicious object, do not approach it or attempt to move the debris on your own. You should move to a safe distance and notify law enforcement or emergency responders. In this case, the dangerous find was detected in time and handed over to specialists who have the necessary knowledge and equipment to handle such objects. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Chernihiv region.
