Budanov Addressed Russian Pilots Following the Attacks on Ukraine
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, responded to the latest Russian attacks on civilians. He addressed the Russian pilots launching missiles at Ukrainian cities and stated that they would not be able to avoid accountability by citing orders from their commanders.
Kyrylo Budanov commented on the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine. He specifically addressed Russian military personnel involved in striking Ukrainian cities. Budanov also addressed Ukraine’s international partners. He urged them not to seek opportunities for future business with Russia while Russian troops continue to attack Ukraine. “I appeal to those who are still calmly watching the Kremlin’s crimes. What other ‘business prospects’ are you trying to make out through the dust of destroyed Ukrainian homes?” Budanov wrote.
He then addressed Russian pilots specifically. According to Budanov, those who fire missiles at residential buildings cannot escape responsibility simply because they were following orders. “I’m addressing the Russian pilots who fired missiles at residential buildings specifically: you won’t be able to hide behind orders,” he stated.
Budanov did not specify which attack he was referring to in his post. At the same time, he published his statement amid the latest Russian attacks on Ukraine. The head of the Office of the President also expressed his condolences to the families of those who died as a result of the Russian strikes. “I offer my sincere condolences to the families of the victims,” Budanov said.
Thus, in his statement, he emphasized two things at once. First, the responsibility of the Russian military personnel directly involved in the missile strikes. Second, he highlighted the stance of international companies and partners who, despite the war, may be considering future cooperation with Russia. The head of the Office of the President published his statement on Telegram.
