Crocodiles and turtles were injured at the Kyiv Zoo as a result of the Russian Federation's attack
As a result of yet another Russian attack, the Kyiv Zoological Park, a national landmark, sustained damage. Several of its animals, including turtles and crocodiles, were injured by a powerful blast wave. Zoo staff promptly provided the animals with the necessary care and are currently assessing the extent of damage to the buildings and infrastructure.
“Fortunately, no animals were killed. Everyone is currently safe,” the statement reads.
On the KyivZoo grounds, the buildings of the primate and bird sections, the winter garden dome, the aquaterrarium, the hay storage, the northern entrance area, and the exotic plants in the winter garden were damaged.
The northern entrance area and the parking lot are temporarily closed.
Entry to the zoo is via the Central Entrance. The rest of the grounds are operating as usual.
