About 1,300 people remain under shelling in Kostiantynivka

About 1,300 people remain under shelling in Kostiantynivka

In the frontline town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast, about 1,300 civilians remain, and the evacuation is taking place under difficult conditions due to constant shelling. The town is under heavy fire, and people trying to leave are being transported out by the military and evacuation services.

In Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Oblast—which is under constant shelling—there are still about 1,300 civilians registered, and the exact number of people remaining in the city is now difficult to verify due to the combat situation.

As Dmytro Petlin, head of the Division of Operational Duty, Communications, Alerting, and Public Information at the Civil Protection Department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, stated during an online briefing, the situation in the city remains critically dangerous because, in his words, “in Kostiantynivka, everything that can be shot at is being shot at, with whatever weapons are available,” which effectively makes any movement extremely difficult.

Despite this, people who manage to escape the danger zone are being helped to leave by the Ukrainian military and evacuation services, which are working in coordination with local authorities and volunteers. According to Petlin, up to 12 evacuation crews are deployed in the region every day, including the “White Angel” police unit, rescuers from the State Emergency Service’s “Phoenix” unit, and volunteers who continue to work in all areas where civilian evacuations are underway. This was reported during an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the Division for Operational Duty, Communications, Alerting, and Public Information at the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization, and Defense of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.

On the night of June 25, Russia carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using a ballistic missile and dozens of attack drones. Air defense forces destroyed or intercepted most of the targets, but a missile and several drones were confirmed to have struck their targets.

Starting in the evening of June 24, Russian troops carried out nearly 20 attacks on five districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region, using drones, artillery, and a guided aerial bomb. Damage to infrastructure was reported as a result of the shelling.

On June 25, rescue workers extinguished a fire at an industrial facility in the Poltava region that was caused by a Russian attack. Emergency responders continued their work after the facility was struck by enemy weapons.
