Video: Drones Attacked the Azot Plant in Russia for the Fourth Time

On the night of June 26, drones attacked the Azot plant in Novomoskovsk, Russia, which is one of the key facilities for the Russian Federation’s defense-industrial complex. Local residents reported explosions that lasted several hours, and the smell of ammonia was noticeable in the area around the plant.

The attack lasted all night: drones were spotted flying over the city, and explosions could be heard on the ground. The explosions were also heard in the Venevsky District of the Tula Region. Local residents report a strange smell of ammonia in the air and power outages in the city—these are likely also the result of the strike drones’ operations.

Following the nighttime attack, NASA’s FIRMS satellite service detected a fire on the grounds of the Novomoskovsk Power Plant. The power plant is located within the same industrial complex and has also belonged to NAK Azot since 2022—the company purchased it from Quadra.

"Azot" in Novomoskovsk is one of Russia’s largest and oldest chemical enterprises, part of the EuroChem holding company. It produces one out of every nine metric tons of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers in the country—making it the second-largest producer of ammonia in the Russian Federation. In addition to fertilizers, the plant produces urea, methanol, concentrated nitric acid, argon, chlorine, and caustic soda.

This was reported by the monitoring channels Supernova+ and Exilenova+.

Earlier, a large-scale closure of gas stations began in the temporarily occupied Crimea due to a critical shortage of petroleum products. The fuel supply problem has even affected the largest regional fuel networks, including TES and ATAN.

As a reminder: the fuel crisis in Russia is worsening: gasoline is running out at gas stations and lines are growing.

Russia has allowed the use of lower-quality gasoline due to the fuel crisis.
