UA NEWS 01 July 2026 08:52
Fires have been reported in Crimea on the Tavrida Highway and at a power substation following explosions

On the night of July 1, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, fires were detected on the “Tavrida” highway and at the “Zakhidno-Krymska” power substation following a series of explosions, according to satellite monitoring data.

This was reported by the Telegram channel Krymsky Veter.

The channel specified that a fire was detected on the Tavrida Highway on an overpass that runs above the railroad tracks. The source of the fire is located south of Vladislavivka, through which the railroad line runs toward Feodosia.

At this time, it is not yet known exactly what caused the fire. It is possible that the strike hit the overpass directly or a vehicle that may have been on or near it, such as a fuel tanker or a diesel locomotive. The possibility of a regular wildfire has not been ruled out either.

It was reported that explosions in the Kirovsk and Feodosia areas could be heard for about an hour and a half.

Furthermore, it is noted that, based on an analysis of satellite imagery, the 330/110 kV Western Crimean substation was damaged again. The main source of the fire was identified as an open 110 kV switchgear.

The substation is located near the village of Karierne in the Saki District. According to eyewitnesses, a series of explosions was heard in the area around 1:00 a.m.

On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using a ballistic missile, an X-59 guided air-to-ground missile, and 151 drones of various types.

On the night of July 1, Russian troops carried out a massive attack with strike drones on the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 30, Russian forces attacked an electric locomotive in the Dnipropetrovsk region with a drone. There were no casualties, as the locomotive crew was warned of the danger in time, and the workers managed to take cover.

Ukrainian drones struck eight of the ten largest Russian oil refineries by processing volume, with some facilities being hit multiple times.
