In Kryvyi Rih, the search continues for people trapped under the rubble of a shopping center
A large-scale search operation is underway in Kryvyi Rih at the site of a shopping center that was destroyed by Russian drones on August 21. Three people are still missing.
The Russian attack killed 16 people and injured 136 others, including 26 children.
Eight service dogs from the State Emergency Service arrived along with dog handlers from the Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions, as well as the city of Dnipro.
“In extremely difficult conditions, amid reinforced concrete debris, broken glass, and twisted metal, these four-legged specialists are thoroughly searching hard-to-reach cavities and rubble where humans or heavy engineering equipment cannot reach,” the rescuers noted.
Canine teams have already searched over 1,000 square meters of the destroyed complex. State Emergency Service rescuers have cleared 1,900 square meters of damaged structures.
The search continues nonstop: three people, including one child, are still listed as missing.
A total of 185 emergency responders and 42 pieces of equipment have been deployed to the scene of the tragedy.
