Two oil terminals and an oil refinery have been damaged in the Leningrad Region
Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that following strikes on the Primorsk and Ust-Luga oil terminals in Russia’s Leningrad Oblast, the Kirish Oil Refinery was also hit.
All of these facilities are located in the same region on the Baltic Sea coast, indicating a systematic effort by Ukrainian forces to strike the enemy’s strategic infrastructure.
"Monday, March 23 – transshipment at the Transneft-Primorsk terminal was halted; ironically, on the very same day, the alternative "Ust-Luga" terminal, which had been shut down due to courtesy visits from Ukrainian drones, resumed operations," Brovdi wrote on Telegram on Thursday, adding that as early as Wednesday, March 25, a second strike was launched against "Ust-Luga."
"Thursday, March 26—we struck the region’s largest refinery, the Kirishovskiy Refinery, which receives Siberian crude via pipeline for processing in the Leningrad region, with subsequent pumping to the aforementioned ports for export. The trio defines the perimeter of operations. A comprehensive strike on the Kirishivsky refinery was carried out by deep-strike units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, including the SBS “Birds.” Today’s strike on the Kirishivsky refinery was carried out by the “Birds” of the 1st SBS Battalion in conjunction with the forces and assets of the SBU,” he said.
According to the SBS commander, the Gulf of Finland is currently shrouded in smoke, with flashes of fire visible in some places.
"By systematically demilitarizing the enemy’s oil arteries, refining, and export of raw materials, we are hindering the enemy’s ability to fund the expansion of its ground forces, as well as controlling the ‘leakage’ of oil through the Baltic Sea," Brovdi wrote.
Russia sentenced Madyar in absentia to 18 years in a penal colony.
