Panic in Moscow ahead of May 9: The Kremlin has been surrounded by armed checkpoints

In Moscow, security measures were sharply tightened ahead of the May 9 celebrations due to fears of drone attacks.

This was reported by the VChK-OGPU.

According to available data, checkpoints have been set up at the city’s entrances, and armored vehicles and off-road vehicles equipped with machine guns have been deployed near the Kremlin. Armed troops have also appeared on the Kremlin grounds, specifically on the walls and towers.

In addition, security forces have blocked access to Red Square, where a military parade and a speech by Russian leadership are scheduled to take place.

Earlier reports indicated that this year’s parade in Moscow will take place without military equipment for the first time since 2007. The Kremlin attributed this to the “operational situation” and security threats.

For the first time in many years, the May 9 parade in Moscow may take place without a display of military equipment, indicating a weakening of Russian military capabilities compared to previous years. At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that Ukrainian drones may appear in the airspace during the event. On May 4, our drones already visited Moscow.

The Kremlin confirmed that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to visit Moscow and take part in the military parade on May 9.
