An oil refinery is on fire in Moscow following an attack — CPD

A massive fire broke out at the Moscow Oil Refinery in the capital of the aggressor country following an airstrike.

Despite the maximum concentration of air and missile defense systems around the Russian capital, the facility sustained serious damage

This incident threatens the stable supply of fuel to the region and demonstrates the vulnerability of Russian infrastructure.

This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, on his official Telegram channel.

The head of the agency emphasized the helplessness of the Russian military leadership in the face of such incidents.

“Moscow is under attack; the Moscow oil refinery is on fire. Although Putin has pulled virtually all key air defense and missile defense systems to Moscow, this does not save the Russians. Putin is not a guarantor of security for Muscovites,” the head of the Center stressed.

According to Andriy Kovalenko, the attacked facility is of strategic importance to the Russian capital and surrounding regions. This refinery processes approximately 11 million tons of crude oil annually.

The facility supplies approximately 40% of Moscow’s total demand for automotive gasoline and nearly 50% of its demand for diesel fuel.

Damage to such a major fuel hub will inevitably lead to a worsening shortage of petroleum products on Russia’s domestic market.

“Restrictions of 20 liters per car at gas stations had already been introduced in Moscow following constant attacks on oil depots and other refineries. Now we expect an even greater crisis. Muscovites can thank Putin for this every day and remember how they voted for him,” noted the head of the CPD.

Sources indicate that the epicenter of the fire was the plant’s most critical unit, without which the production process becomes impossible.

According to Kovalenko, the ELOU AVT-6—a primary oil refining unit on which the plant’s ability to operate depends—is on fire at the Moscow Oil Refinery.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the key port of Kavkaz in the Kerch Strait

As a reminder, Russia attacked the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, causing a fire.

Prior to this, Russian KABs struck the Zaporizhzhia region, resulting in injuries.

Five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv.
