In Nikopol, father of Ukrainian model killed in Russian drone attack
Russian occupiers killed the father of well-known blogger and model Kseniia Shevchenko during a drone strike on the city on April 4, 2026, at 9:40 a.m. The man was killed instantly by a direct hit, which also caused a fire.
Kseniia Shevchenko reported the tragedy in an Instagram post.
The deceased is survived by elderly parents, his common-law wife, and an 11-year-old daughter. Kseniia Shevchenko stated her intention to take guardianship of her younger sister, as the girl has been left without her mother. The model has already arranged to transport her father’s body from Nikopol to Zaporizhzhia for burial. She is currently asking not for condolences but for work to support her family. She also called for the incident to be officially documented as a crime committed by the aggressor state against civilians.
Nikopol suffers daily from artillery strikes and Shahed drone attacks from the opposite bank of the Dnipro River. Local authorities urge residents to stay alert and remain in shelters during air raid alerts.
