In a number of regions, consumers were left without power due to attacks by the Russian Federation

As of August 21, some consumers in the Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions remain temporarily without electricity due to hostilities and damage to the power infrastructure.

According to the agency, utility workers are working around the clock to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible.

Repair work is ongoing around the clock, despite security risks associated with hostilities and shelling.

The Ministry of Energy noted that as of August 21, no power rationing is expected.

Should the situation change, consumers are advised to monitor updates on the official websites of their regional power companies.

The ministry also urged Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly during peak hours—in the morning and evening. This helps reduce the load on the power grid and maintain its stable operation.

At the same time, power restrictions were already in place in Ukraine during the summer of 2026: rolling blackouts were implemented on June 30 and July 1.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops killed two residents of the Donetsk region and wounded another 27 civilians. This was reported on August 21 by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

On the evening of August 20 and overnight on August 21, Russian troops attacked the Nikopol, Synelnykiv, and Pavlohrad districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with drones. Local authorities reported on the consequences of the strikes.

On the night of August 21, Russian forces attacked the village of Lebyazhe in the Chuhuiv district with six strike drones. The strike killed two women and injured two others; private homes were also damaged and destroyed.

On the night of August 21, Russia launched a massive drone strike on the Sumy region, targeting Sumy and Konotop. The shelling damaged residential buildings, and at least two people were injured.
