An oil depot and a terminal are on fire in Novorossiysk following a drone attack
In Novorossiysk, Russia, fires broke out at several strategic facilities following the crash of drone debris, including an oil depot and the “Sheshkharis” fuel terminal. According to local authorities, people were injured and hospitalized. The cause of the fires is officially attributed to a drone attack. This was reported by the Russian BBC service, citing a statement from the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters.
In the city of Novorossiysk in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, fires broke out overnight at an oil depot and one of the key fuel terminals after drone debris fell. According to preliminary information, the fires broke out in several technical and administrative buildings, and drone debris fell directly onto the fuel terminal grounds. “The fire occurred in several technical and administrative buildings, and fragments of drones fell onto the fuel terminal grounds,” the region’s Operational Headquarters stated.

Local authorities also claim that two men were injured in the incident; they were on the street when the debris fell. Both were hospitalized.
According to OSINT analysts at Astra, the “Grushova Balka” oil depot in Novorossiysk is on fire, and eyewitness video of the fire was filmed from a distance of over 10 kilometers from the tank farm. Earlier, analysts also reported a possible fire at the “Sheshkharis” oil terminal, which is the largest oil loading complex in southern Russia and is part of the “Transneft” system. “Sheshkharis” handles the receipt, storage, and shipment of oil and petroleum products to tankers and is a key hub for major oil pipelines in the region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, claimed to have shot down 348 drones on Saturday night, stating that 14 regions of Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea were under attack. The aftermath of the fires continues to be assessed at the scene, and the extent of the damage is being determined.

Despite the strikes, there were no casualties. Air defense forces destroyed some of the enemy drones in the sky over the region during the night.
