Russian Z-channels have revealed details of the fall mobilization
Rumors of a possible new wave of mobilization in the fall of 2026 are spreading more and more actively in the Russian media. Pro-war Z-channels claim that the Kremlin might take such a step after the elections to the Russian State Duma to compensate for losses on the front lines and strengthen the Russian army.
In particular, military blogger Vladimir Romanov published a post suggesting a possible mobilization in October involving up to 1.2 million people. However, he did not provide any evidence or sources for this information.
Other pro-Russian media outlets link the possible mobilization to the difficult situation on the front lines, heavy losses suffered by the Russian army, and a shortage of volunteers signing up for contracts. They also note that Ukrainian long-range drone strikes are creating additional problems for Russian logistics and air defense systems.
At the same time, Ruslan Leviev, founder of the Conflict Intelligence Team, is skeptical about the likelihood of a large-scale mobilization. In his view, forming, equipping, and training new units will require significant financial resources, and mobilization alone will not guarantee a substantial change in the situation on the front lines. The Washington Post reports on this.
